Success At Work

To have success at work you first must determine what success means to you. Success is based on what you believe success is not what someone else thinks it is. You can have 10 people tell you what success at work means to them and they will all give you a different explanation.
Know your priorities and then you will be able to determine what success at work means to you personally. For example, if money is your priority then you will believe that money is what makes you successful.

Keep a positive attitude at work and avoid negativity. It isn't likely that you will enjoy success at work with a negative attitude. The person at work who is positive is the one everybody likes to be around. This will make them a success among their co-workers and the boss too most likely.
Be there every day and be on time. In fact, be there early, so that when it comes time to work you're ready. The worker who drags in late or just in the nick of time impresses no one. To be a success at work you need to have work ethic and people with work ethic show up and show up on time.

Do your job with a spirit of excellence and not with a get by attitude. When you do a job do it to the best of your ability this shows that you take pride in your work. It doesn't matter if any one sees or knows, you need to do it for you, so that you place value on yourself and your work.
Work hard every day even if you don't feel like it. Don't allow feelings to get into it. We are supposed to control our feelings and not let them control us. Most people who enjoy success at work are hard working and focused. Just because you're mad at so and so is not a legitimate excuse for shoddy work.

Make your self indispensable, so that they need you. You want to be the go to guy or gal that gets the job done. This is done by going the extra mile in all you do above and beyond what is expected.
These principles alone don't guarantee success at work, but they will most certainly give you a solid foundation to build on.
